Surprise Anniversary Party

Here is a "clip" from today's Crossway Life Monday News, which is also family news.

Geoff and Karla Sensenig surprised for their 25th wedding anniversary. A small group of family and friends celebrated Geoff and Karla's 25th wedding anniversary on Saturday night. Sarah planned the party 4 months early because it was the surest bet that they would not suspect anything. She was right and they were totally surprised. Congratulations Geoff and Karla. They were presented with a cash gift to be used for a special trip which Karla will enjoy planning.

Thanks to my grandma Landis, who did all the food, and my grandma Sensenig who allowed us to use her home. I was greatly affected that day on the rich blessing I have in both sets of my grandparents, Granddaddy and Grandpa included. A special thanks to my aunt Cheryl as well, who made a trip up from Charlotte, NC just for this occasion. I am also very grateful for all the friends who joined my siblings, family, and I in honoring and blessing my parents. I know they felt loved by the cards written by so many people from church, as well as built up by the time with a small group of friends. It was very hard to plan a party and keep it small, but I knew that would serve them. We just had some old friends that were a part of their actual wedding day, and most were also friends from church. We had around 30 people (including our immediate family).
My parents' faces were radiant all evening, and I was blessed to see them so effectively blessed. When my mom asked me late Saturday night how I pulled off some of the logistics and kept it a surprise, I could only say "God wanted to bless you, and he did." I loved seeing our Father show his love and care for my parents.

A friend from church was so sweet and kind to allow me to borrow her camera extremely last minute, as I realized it would be difficult if not impossible to use my dad's camera. My aunt was able to capture a few shots.

Done posting everyday

Ok, I'm going to stop posting every day. I'm running out of things to post. I will still try to post a lot, but not every day. Today we had a Tornado warning around our area. Nothing big happened, only some rain, dark sky and thunder. My dad got a bunch of pictures of the tornado forming. You can look at it on his facebook. Family Vacation 2010

This is our summer vacation. It was a hybrid of Sta-cation and Vacation. We did things around home for a couple days and then went to the mountains. The activities around home included visiting a creek, golfing, tennis with a lesson for Joy, visiting The Conestoga House, and laser tag. Wednesday we headed to the mountains for a relaxing time of frisbee, reading , eating, sleeping in, rocketing, and a little photography, among other things. It was relaxing and now we are getting back to life. We are thankful for the fact that the whole family is able to be together again for the week. I have posted some pictures from out time below. Enjoy!

A Horse Called Chestnut

Here is a little from a book I'm writing called, "A Horse Called Chestnut". It's not edited.

“Robbie… Robbie… Robert!” Jen yelled through window of his class room. Where is he? Jen thought to herself. The front door opened and out came a stout black haired man. “Hello Mr. Webkont. Have you seen Robbie, I mean Robert by any chance?” Jen said remembering that Robbie didn’t like the name Robbie in public, (he thought it made him sound childish.) “Oh, didn’t you know that they had off early today?” he said surprised.
“No, I hade no idea.” Of course no one told me, she thought as she started to go, when Abby said, “See ya Jen, I’m going home.”
“Wait, Abby. Maybe you could come over. No one is home, but Robbie.”
“Well, maybe. I have to ask my mom and dad.”
“To bad Cass isn’t here, you could use her cell.” Jen grinned.
“Haha, but I actually I just got a cell phone for my birthday.” Abby said.
“But it’s not your birthday yet. Your birthday is April 18th and it’s only April 4th,” Jen said confused.
“It was an early birthday present from my grandparents because they can’t make it to my birthday.” “Ok, that makes sense.” Jen said. Abby toke out her cell and called her mom and her mom said she go. They walked up to The Horse Barn and hid behind a bush. Jen was staring at a horse that was a beautiful light brown. Jen would call him if he was hers, ‘Chestnut’. She was sneaking here when ever she had spare time, to secretly ride him. And this was her favorite horse out of all of them. His name was Henry; Jen thought her pick of name was better.
