Check out this music video some friends from church and I made for the Doxa Holiday Party Talent Show with our Youth Group. It is to Tenth Avenue North's song: All the Pretty Things. The song is about people chasing after things of the world instead of looking to Christ. Let me know what you think of it! Go here:

Yippee!!!! Joy finally Graduated on June 7th 2011! (Which happened to be my last day of school!) The whole family (plus Sara Rankin) went to Joy's high school graduation from Conestoga Valley, at Calvary Church. We got pictures with her and pictures of her walking and with her friends. Dayspring 7th Grade Creation Trip 2011
7th grade at my school went on a field trip. It’s called the Creation Trip. First we went to the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh (which is based on evolution), and then we went to the Creation Museum in Kentucky. And we kind of like compared them to each other. And we stayed in two hotels. It was rally fun. The one had a swimming pool and a hot tub, but the pool was hotter then the hot tub. And the swimming pool was so hot you could see the steam on it! I think it wasn’t supposed to be like that! J It was fun anyway! Then on the way home we stopped at the Flight 93 Memorial. It was really tiring! We were in the bus for most of the time. It was so fun!

Margaret, the Tree!
Margaret has enjoyed her role as a tree in the play, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It was fun being part of a fun school project. As promised I have uploaded some pictures of her and also a bonus, the slideshow we made of the play. Enjoy!

Flurries and Films
It seems to me that we are getting more constant snow this year than other years. Most everyday the weather is spitting out the white stuff, either in a storm or snow globe-like quality.
But on this frigid Saturday in January, our family spent some significant time reminiscing and anticipating summer youth camp. From ideas beginning to brew in Vinson's mind at the breakfast table for 2011 videos, to revisiting prior years' films as we are all gathered together in the living room (except for Erin, who is working his Saturday job), we spent some time just enjoying God's goodness in the relationships of our church and family.
It was fun to check out the Youth Camp video series from 2009 and 2010, each consisting of 5 installments (click the links to view all 10). I'd like to dig up earlier years' videos too. The one from 2009 plays off of 2008's "vinsonade," and 2008 also includes John Haughery's epic bike tackle victim scene.
But even as we think of warmer days, there is much to be enjoyed and reaped from this cold wintry season.
Since we're on the video topic, check out the below wintry piece by Nathaniel Millen for the 2009 Doxa Holiday party at Prince Street Cafe. I enjoy this video because I get to see my younger siblings enjoy Lancaster City with friends, like I have so many times.

iMovie fun with the Plank kids
I spent some time with the Plank kids this weekend. Macbooks are quite the babysitting tool. We could have spent all day on Photo Booth, iMovie, and GarageBand! However, we were more well-rounded than that, and I only exposed them to iMovie this time (not even mentioning the special features and backgrounds).
Here's a clip from today (mostly so I can show Kelly, Doug, and Brenda).
It's interesting how a camera influences behavior. They were quite amusing, especially when we were on Skype with Kelly (who is in Spain!).

A day at the office…or half a day.
Well I’ve been playing with my Time Lapse Photography and having some fun. A couple days ago I set up my tripod in my office and set the shutter to shoot every 2 minutes. Then I put it into a slide show. Kind of fun. I also merged the images into one image, a little busy but kind of interesting. So today is a snow day and I went to the chiropractor because I’m a little sore. I can’t do “real” work today so I spent a little time on this. Now I’ve got to get back to something that pays! Enjoy!

Moving shadows on the snow
Ok I’ve been wanting to make time lapse photography for a long time. One day I was browsing the web and found a “cheaters” way of making a controller for my camera for free if I had the things around the house. So I started to gather the needed peripherals; a graphing calculator from my kids and the right cable from a “friend” (boy did that one cost me!). So I ran a test and have posted it here. The results are less than amazing, but none the less worthwhile. Enjoy!
